I went for a walk today with the idea of giving my 70-200L a bit of a workout as I don't use it very much. However it is one of those lenses that I know, I'd wish I had if I didn't! Anyway some results.....#1 the guy seemed a little unsure of his equipment, #2 a working boat having Sunday off.

Nice colours in the first shot. The sky, water and f/g all look good.
Would have liked to see more detail/colour in the sky in the second shot. But I see why as you have kept the details in the shadows on the hull. Tricky shot to expose....
What time did you take them as it was very overcast earlier in the day but cleared mid afternoon.??
And why are you walking, it's perfect Norton riding weather....

Hi Marty, yeah it was tricky exposure today the light was all over the place lol. I did think about taking the Norton out for a spin but it looked like rain when I left. Here's a couple more........

okay the last two from my wanderings today.....I realise the pelican doesn't really belong in people but he was in my path so I shot him. The second one is just typical of seagulls eh', he's tring to pretend he's not interested in their food, hah!

Nice shots Roger. Oh how I wish I were close to the water. I see all these water pics and drool...lol. So many photo ops by the water.

Looks like an awsome place Roger... well represented. Skies like those are just to deal with. I am almost to the point of getting the old Cokin filters out again so I can use the old gradient ND filter out again. I know you can do some in post, but I haven't been able to get the same results I used to get. Not much of a bird shooter myself, but the pelican is a nicely done shot IMNHO. Cheers.

Yes Ladybelle living close to the water is very nice, fortunately for me I live in a country enviroment with horses and wild critters etc and yet live 20mins from some of the best beaches. Where I work is even closer so you could say I'm spoilt lol.
Mark thanks, I have been considering getting some ND filters. I already have a bunch of Cokin P size but have never used ND's as I am only just getting serious about landscape.
Roger.

Love the last one & the seagull doing his best to try to look disinterested, LOL.
