I'm thinking about getting the pre-trigger cable that Pocket Wizard has that will allow you to connect a Pocket Wizard receiver to the 10D (and EOS 3 and I suspect D30 and D60). Has anyone else done this? Since I already have a set of Pocket Wizards, it's a cheaper away to go for remote shooting than getting the Canon wireless remote. The pre-trigger cable (so the camera doesn't go to sleep) is $128. The non-pre-trigger cable is $101.
Has anyone tried this out and if so, how well does it work?
Thanks

I don't quite get this. Do you want to fire the flash with the radio slave? Or do you want to fire the camera?
I've also changed the time that the 10D goes to sleep to 15 minutes so you could do this too, up until 30 minutes (I think).

I want to use it to fire the camera. The Pocket Wizards have a cable that you plug into the receiver and then into the camera remote port on the side. Then when you use the transmitter test button or (in my case) my Sekonic L-358 with the Pocket Wizard transmitter installed, you can take a picture. If you have a flash in the hot shoe or connected to the PC jack, you can also fire a flash as well.
I thought about extending the sleep time on the camera but if I had the camera set up on a balcony or somewhere were I might have it for awhile, I figured it would be better to have the non-sleep cable. And the price difference between the two are not that much.
