I recently went walking in the rain with camera. This is one of many shots of motor oil from the cars of many broke college students leaking into the streets

I feel you should have had a greater attention to detail. That cigarrete butt totaly ruins the overall effect of the picture.
It is important that every aspect of the picture reflects the overall intent. This picture for me is ethereal, maybe celestial of sorts and a butt in the middle of it just messes it up too much.
Overall the colours are great, the reflections, the sharpness on the middle versus the fading towards the edges, the crevisses, the darkness on the top are all great aspects. A great picture ruined by an insignificant detail.

To me the cigarette butt goes well with the overall theme, which to me is dirty and pollution, and provides a focal point for the image that would otherwise be missing without it. I guess it's all personal opinion.

I was kinda straddling the fence on that point. I can remove it with PS, but i feel it does match the theme of the image as well as provides a link to the reality of the picture. but still i dont know about it aestically. anyone else have any opinions?
