Hi everyone, my first post here. I just found this forum earlier this evening. :D I am not what you would call very experienced in photography, but I really enjoy it!

Briefly after a rain shower rolled through (as has happened many, many times in the past week here in Kentucky), the sun peeked through as some clouds rolled away. I decided to get a dramatic shot from my front porch of the sun shining down on the wet street. Obviously, the light is the focus, so I went with a very fast shutter (1/1600) and an F/8 aperture to get a very dark shot with a bright, glaring sun. (The camera is a PowerShot S2 IS, I've only had it about a month now, just graduated up from a basically fully auto point & shoot Sony Cybershot)

Hi Dan,
Congrats on your new camera and welcome to POTN. Looks like you've accomplished exactly what you intended with this shot....good job. Keep posting your work and enjoy the forums as they are a great place to learn lots (but be careful, it can cost you a lot of money)!
