Nice shot. It looks like your camera holding is steady after "several" beers ;). I wanted to spend a night in the forum last time I was in Rome, but ended up missing the opportunity. All my forum shots were near mid-day, and way too bright. Are there any tripod restrictions there?

In reality it looks like the Velbon tripod was steady :) I wasn't at all... :D And well.. in theory yes, there are restrictions about using a tripod in a public place but that's only for professionals. Overall, being such a tourist area, nobody cares anyway even at late night (better, very early in the morning, the exif say 2:18 AM but now that I look at it I see that I did not changes the camera clock for daylight, to its one hour behind... read that 3:18 AM).
And you missed a walk at night in the forum area, its beautiful. Only problem is that if you want to take some pics without cars (not the case of this particular shot, but you knw that there is a large street right between the forums) you have to be there only very, very late. And even at 3 AM I had to wait to take a couple of shots without cars in the middle... Will post some as soon as I manage to fix 'em up.

It looks so lovely at night. I am coming back to Rome (& Venice) next year, Rob. Maybe we can do a night walk together.

Bella Italia... Avante squadra Azzura per la coppa del mundiale !!!...
Ok, here is the deal with this image. I like how well exposed it is, for walking around drunk in the middle of the night. The artificial lighting around the buildings have personality (they are not the very same boring colors), and this in turn show so many different colors, despite the absence of 'Sole'.
I really like it.
The only thing I would change, is that I should be the one drunk in Roma, holding an 1D mk2. ;)
