Sharp Lens 28-135???

Ok here is the issue, i have the 28-135 Image Sta lens on my 20d I use in the studio. f8 125 ISO 100 is normal info but the lens doesn't seem as sharp 28-70 or so and then it becomes sharper as you zoom. Question.....do you think something is wrong with the lens, the camera, or neither, thats just the way the lens works?

Any help or suggestions would be great

That's just the way the lens is. It's not too sharp. I have the same one. Gotta use Photoshop USM or DPP sharpening when using this lens. Or, crank up the sharpening setting in your 20D to have the camera do it.
