Hi, I recently got my 85 1.8 so, what do you think?
I know the equipment doesn't make the photographer. Any sugestions appreciated.
I shot raw, the first one is the jpeg extracted, the second one I tried to fix it.
Juan.

The shots looks a little bit blurry. Did you have a slow iso? Maybe a closer crop around the artist, but if you couldnt get any closer or zoom in, I can see where that becomes difficult. How much did that new lens cost if you dont mind sharing with me? THanks

looks like you used too low a shutter speed. You might want to crank your ISO up as high as you can (beware of noise), and get your shutter speed up to at least 100/sec. Even then, you still might be alittle soft, but it will be much sharper then you are achieving now. You can always play with levels and curve adjustments in the post-edit.

Hi, thanks for the comments.
The first one: 85mm AV f/2.0 @ 1/50 ISO 800 on monopod
The second one: 85mm AV f/2.0 @1/40 ISO 800 on monopod
I tried to shoot M f/1.8 @ 1/120 ISO 1600 but the photos came out very dark.
I'll keep trying. Thank you.

Two good lenses! It would be very nice if you would give the venue and performer names. These people work hard at what they do and this forum is searched by Google as well as its own members for specific things. It also draws more people than titles that are seen over and over and over again! :-) We have a lot of shooters in the San Diego area so you are in good company.
