I'm pretty sure this little Canada goose had hatched only a few hours before I was on the scene. He and his three siblings were slogging through the mud in a fast drying pond. Only inches of water to practice in. They instinctivly tried to follow mom out to the shore. Even on their first day they had the legs to get through it. I watched waiting for one of the parents to reach over and pluck them out of the morass.:D
