I'm looking to get into team/school portraits. I worked for a photographer a few years ago and he had really nice ordering envelopes printed. I cannot find anywhere that does this. Can anyone tell me where to have this done?

Also is one lab better then another for pictures like these? Does the lab package the individual portraits and packages together?

One last thing what do I need to do to get these pictures ready to send to lab? I am going to let the lab color correct them, but do I need to anything else to them? I assume that each team will be in its own folder with the team picture. Is there a better program to view many pictures at the same time then Photo Shop. It seams PS has a hard time organizing many files.

I know this is a lot but any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Todd

Todd

I just started using this company www.rainbowlab.net (http://www.rainbowlab.net)

The owners name is Peter Battin and he is excellent to work with. I just finished shooting a little league (approx. 165 kids) and I sent him the order on a Tues. and it was back at my house on Fri. of the same week. All orders were packaged in separate envelopes. I did nothing to the pictures except send them and all were excellent. The only thing you have to do is fill out a spreadsheet for each team to correspond with your orders and packages. Took me about 2 hours total. I was a little apprehensive about letting someone else do my post processing but it was a definate time saver. He will send you samples of their work with your pictures.

Give Peter a call and see what he says.

Great thanks for the reply. I am still in the early stages, but will definatly give him a call.

Also what did you use as an order form? Did you have order evvelopes printed, or just a sheet of paper that the parents could paper clip payment to?

Thanks!

Todd,

I created my own order form...on one side I have all of the individual and team information and on the back I have a small picture of the package and what is included with the price. I offer 20 different packages/items. This is all captured on an 8x10 sheet of paper. The for the envelope, I just got a box of No. 10 ((with the peel and seal) from Sam's Club (550 count) and just print my business name on the front.

For me, my big sellers were the baseball cards, magnets and photo buttons.

If you need any more info, feel free to e-mail me and I could send you a copy of the form.

Todd, good luck on this. I am not brave enough to get into anything like this, but I do take team pictures all the time. I still buy the offered pictures, but then as the year progresses, I take several pictures so the parents can see how the boys have grown.

Flauri I sent you a PM, thanks.

Suzy, team pictures aren't that bad, but I love working with kids. I shot them for about a year and a half for another photographer making minimum wage, even at that price I didn't mind doing them. Although the responsibility will be greater being on my own I will enjoy making much more for doing them.

Sweet, I just sent him an email for samples and pricing info since some parents were asking about some items and they offer them.
