Just some shots of “kinda” interesting stuff in my neighborhood I found while out walking. There was a break in the rain so I decided to go walk the dog after work..it was cloudy and I was losing light fast!

A pair of Lions guarding a drive way.

Second one I think they need to adjust the sequence times on those traffic lights. I like the third one best. Dreamweaver   I prefer head shop ;)

Im still trying to figure out what that thing hanging out of the mail slot is!

And they took down the giant, plywood "Dancing " bears that were on the front lawn... (sadly to say, I have never been in that place)

I like the second one, shows just enough of the car to perk your interest but not enough to really see anything. Sort of like a stripper from days gone by.

The car is great... it makes me think that it's ready to pounce like a big steel cat! It's lying in wait for the perfect moment...

Love #2 and #3, the car looks like an old Riley or Wolseley and the door to the 'Head Shop' lol looks like a great place to visit.....just had another look at #1 and I reckon' it would look good as a b&w.

My favourite is the last image.
I believe I know whats hanging out of the letterbox. Years ago, many houses hung a spare door key attached to the inside of the front door by string. This key on string was attached on the inside of the door. If the occupants ever lost their key to open the door and were locked outside, they could reach through the letterbox, grab the string and pull the key through the hole to the outside of the door. The string on the key had to be long enough to allow you to unlock the door with the string still attached.
Well thats what we did...!!!!
AS Roger suggested, b/w on the first image would improve it a lot.

I remember this sort of practice well, but of course, burglars of the day were not clever enough to realise this...
The other place they would never look was under the door-mat or under a flower-pot ;)

lol.... Im wondering if it isnt some sort of crude door bell, maybe i should run up and give it a good yank, see what it does..lol

Its funny, I dont usually go out walking around my neighborhood as its kinda ugly and boring, but i must drive past these things a hundread times a week and even though ive seen them all time and time again, its not till I have a camera in my hand that they become kinda interesting. I was actually out looking to get pics of things that you dont really see in certain places, things "out of place" Like i got a pic of a hairbrush in an empty lot.. or a traffic sign, laying beside a lake in the woods... stuff like that.

Zacker,
just stand back and have another look at what you have around you.
You can see beauty in many things that most would consider ugly and boring.
And Kevin_C, maybe it was just a ridiculous English thing to do, I grew up in England and things were very much different and safer when I saw a kid.
