I took a photo of an already old car and applied some aging in photoshop. Comments?

I like the tight composition, with the curves leading away. The whole image is well balanced.

On my laptop monitor there are faint horizontal lines throughout the picture -- is it my monitor or the "aging" process you applied? In any case, I find it distracting. Otherwise I consider it a strong photo.

Thanks GP.
The lines are in fact a dust and scratches filter. What if I were to intensify the effect? Would it then seem to be more a part of the image?

Here is another version with the same effects applied vertically and horizontally.

Hiya Colin,
I looked at the car and liked the lines of the car . My first impression was , that the car had been painted with a brush but the lustre was too good. I like the perspective and coloring . Not particularly fond of the texture. I like the first over the second. and would like to see more images of the auto.
I'm alway curious about the original ;)

thanks Eric

Hmm , Now that I see the original, I wonder did you try printing your edited version? Your effect may look good in print. I really like the original of this car. Did you get any full shots ? It looks to be a beautiful car.

i too like the looks of the original but also understand the desire for an aged look of the photo, which produced a most interesting (and antique) color.

I too prefer the original, and I really like the reflection in the headlight. :D

I thouhgt of printing it on matte paper. Yes, I do have a photo of the complete car.
There was a huge Show'n'shine here at the beginning of the month. I have around 75 photos to go through.

Ah Conk you have indeed inspired me, Later this month there's an annual Antique Machinery and Equipment show, talk about a rich man's hobby, they have some of the greatest looking refurbished tractors, construction equipment, motorcylces, etc. I mean some of these things look like they just came out of the show room and we're talking 70 year old stuff. I just hope I can do half as well as you did on that car. I like the way the shadows fall on the hood great contrast I must admit I prefer the colored one.

I too must agree, the original is nice, I think the sepia effect is nice, but the brushed effect on it dosent add to it.

I appreciate the experimintation but, like the others, I must say I like the original the best. Cool shot - cool car - cool colors!

Thanks to the rest of you. I must agree. Sometimes you just have to try something different. In this case it just wasn't an improvement. :)
