OK. Every one has one. The one lens that you couldn't bring yourself to part with. It would be the very last lens in your case that you would sell. It may not necessarily be the "best" lens you have or even the one you use the most but there is just something about it that makes you say "Wow" when you see the results.

Let have some fun. What is yours and why? Post some shots from it and maybe even tell a story about it.

For me it would have to be the 200 F1.8. Yes its big, heavy, bulky, hard to find a case for but darn does it take some pretty pictures. You can throw a 1.4x TC on it and it still shines.

No pics handy (I'm at work), but as long as I own an APS-C sensor body the 17-85 IS will be "the one lens". Its versatility is unbeatable, and I just can't see myself spending $1200 on the 17-55 IS (maybe if it was 17-70 or 75).

That said, it will be a very cold day ... before I part with my 70-200 IS.

Same here. 70-200L IS is the last one I'd sell. Gotta say, though...I'm loving my new 400.

Well, have to go for the 70-200Lis.

For me it would have to be the Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM. It has to be the most versitile lens in my camera bag. Coupled with its level of sharpness and IS, I would have to say its the one lens (at the moment) I could not live without.

Although I almost never use it, I don't think I could get rid of my 50 f/1.4. It's there when I need something fast.

My 35mm f/2.0 - at f/5.6 it's one of Canon's sharpest lenses! Very versatile all around lens as a "standard 50mm" on crop bodies. And it's cheap. Sure, the AF is a bit lacking - but who cares.

The 70-200mm f/2.8L IS is another keeper. I'll never get rid of this lens.

Another vote here for the 24-105L IS - I've only had it for a couple of months and already fallen in love with it, mind you I do use my Sigma 70-200 a lot...

I would have to say the Sigma 70-200 f2.8. It is incredibly sharp and is my most used focal length range.

My 70-200 f/4 - I know it's only an f/4 but I really love the zoom, the clarity and the bokeh. and the novelty, it's brand new and I'm still tripping on it!

70-200 2.8 IS.
Big 'n' bulky but worth every penny.

Great shots. Great replies! Let's keep it going.

Malla, Great hummer!

Glowie, nice macro. I need to give my 70-200 a try at macros.

Johnny, that sunset is awesome.

Peatorie, super bokeh on the cat!

I used it 95% of the time until I got a wider lens with 2.8 constant wide aperture :D. It's still on most of the time.

My "favorite" lens is my 17-40mm f/4L, but the one that I make all my money from is my cheapest lens, the 50mm f/1.8 - what a WONDERFUL lens!!

I honestly can't decide. I guess it would be the 35L.

Here's how I rationalized it. I guess I could sacrifice the 16-35L in favor of another WA zoom, though I wouldn't want to. The 85L can be replaced by it's equally fantastic cousin the 85 1.8. And the 135L, the sharpest in my bag IMO, can be replaced by a tele-zoom (70-200) for more versatility. But for ultra-low light and the FOV it gives me on a 1.3x crop, it's hard to compete with the 35L. You make this choice hard for me. :(

I gotta give myself mad props for choosing so wisely in the lensing that I couldn't really sell any without feeling a loss. Maybe Bigma but then I wouldn't have the 200-500mm range. I don't count the kit because it's not really a lens. :)

I really like all of my lenses. I'd have to say that although my Canon 100mm f2.0 is my least used lens, I can't see myself getting rid of it. I rarely use it, but from time to time it is the perfect lens for the situation and I always feel comfortable knowing I can count on it being in my bag. This is a very under-appreciated lens because it's long on a 1.6 body. However, it's a lovely lens and it works well on my film camera too. Here's a shot I took under crappy cloudy conditions.

For me it would also be my 200. Although mine is the 200 f/2.8L and not the f/1.8L. I love it dearly just the same.

For me, it's the 17-40, always brings the goods consistently ;)

Later on, when money allows, I would love the 35L, and Lord_Malone, great shot there!

We're on the same page, Doc. I love my 200L, too, although the 100mm macro lens is a close second.

Will have to be my Tamron 28-75. Not because its the best lens - my Tokina is better and the 70-200 is worth its weight in something close to gold :)

But if its my last lens, I would rather have my street zoom than anything else.

For me 17-85 is definitely the one I'll never sell.
Unbeaten range, IS and even close-up capability. There were situations that I couldn't be able to shoot handheld without it, in a cave and in an aquarium:

I used to think that 17-40/4L would be one of these lenses that I would never sell, since most of my pictures have been taken with it. However new 17-55/2.8 IS and 17-50/2.8 lenses challenge this. Since I nowdays also have 28-75/2.8, I am tempted by the idea of replacing 17-40/4L with Tokina's 12-24/4. So there are lot of poweful temptations for 17-40/4L replacement ...

At the moment, the strongest candidates for lenses that I wouldn't sell are 35/2, which is so damn small and innocent look and yet so useful in low light, and 100/2.8 USM macro, since I want to have at least one lens, where I don't have to worry about shortest focusing distance.

P.S. If Canon would produce new decently priced 35/2 with USM, I would be tempted to upgrade ... so I guess 100/2.8 USM Macro is THE lens for me.

Unless Canon makes a 400mm f/5.6L IS with a minimum focusing distance of <1.8m for $1,200, I'm never selling my 300mm f/4L IS

I'm not surprised to see the 70-200/2.8IS getting so many votes.I've seen this kind of enthusiasm for that lens when this question is asked on other forums.
