Newbie question (g1 & filters)

Hello,

I'm fairly new to photography, but I've been shooting with my G1 for almost a year now. Still very very satisfied with my camera. However I'd like to use a polarizer in order to get blue skies correct etc. and well to be frank I don't know what to buy...

I think I need somekind of adapter to the camera itself + filters. Do I need somekind of step-up ring -system or not?

Someone who knows a working combination do let me know. Thanks.

I think the most common adapter mentioned is the Lens-mate. It has 49mm threads on the end which will take many kinds of filters. I have one and it works great.
