That is an awesome shot you have there - perfect timing and all! Ithink the background distracts you from the main subject but that alright.
Did you apply posterise to it on PS?

Yep. Would be much better without the background clutter, but I know this is sometimes unavoidable.

i think maybe if you could clone the tree out so the skateboader stood out from the sky then the pic would be better but overall i like it.

Good timing.....did they land it?
I think you're standing when shooting? try different and wierd angles. If you look at skaters mags the shots are pretty close generally and are at good angles. If you were closer and lower (+fill flash) you may not have background distractions as mentioned above. I've seen skating photographers put life and limb (and more importantly gear) on the line for key shots.
Still....since my local 1/2 pipe is closed for mainenance these shots are better than my non-existant ones!!!
ps love you signature.

Use fill flash. There appears to be some realy dark spots in the picture but some lights spots that are pushing on borderline of over exposirre but still looks good.. I think it might have been netter as a tighter crop than a panoramic picture personally.

Yeah...great shot! Timing is excellent...the moment of the catch...thats great. Although i do agree that background clutter is distracting. I dunno what u CAN do at this point in time...apart from some PS work to clone out trees and what not (perhaps you can select the skater and turn up the brightness and contrast levels on him a little - kinda make him glow). Pano shot is fine with me...but the second attempt at cropping is no good! I think it leaves the viewer wanting more...because we are unsure where the skater will land...and how high the funbox is and so on...so keep in mind the landing sphere in gap tricks...so u kinda get a complete feel for the entire trick environment.
Great shot once again...just play with bringing the skater out a little in PS. ;)

1st one is better, need to see where he has come from and landing. Plus it shoes how big the air is.

The 1st gives it a totally different perspective on things. The 2nd, he could have been landing on ground just out of the picture but now you can really see how big the drop is and how perfect you got your timing! Also, after posting that one up you can really see the contrast/saturation difference in the photos!
