Here is my first shot with my new 50, f/1.4.
Wow...what a nice lens! I have quite a bit to learn. What do you think of our 5 month old?

I think I want your lens. The DOF on your child is amzing. That little burst of color in the front looks nice too.
Hope you enjoy your new lens!

The lens is good.
The picture is great.
The presentation of the picture is really great (virtual matting/frame)
The 5-month old is astounding. What a cutie!
Keep up the good work.

A handsome baby!
The boy is going to find a whole new world, a new adventure!
and a beautiful lens, too.

Dan, the quiz would have been more interesting, had you hidden the EXIF, had she not changed the posture, and had the zoom's focal length been also 50mm.
Anyway, you have a beautiful model.

The lens and the baby are amazing.
I really like the warmth of the colors that the 1.4
seems to express. As a user of a 50 1.8, I've heard
a lot about the warm colors of the 1.4. What aperture
did you take the photo with btw?

True if this was intended to be an experiment. Just happen to have both cameras with the 50mm on one of them for this shoot …. Dan

hi ,
The lens is truely amazing.
But I have some issues with the composition, The eyes of the baby are too dead center. Somehow I feel the picture is not balanced because of this.
The viewers eye is supposed to travel from the out-of-focus toy on to the baby's eye and rest there, but because of the dead center composition , I find it hard to rest my eyes on the baby.
Sorry don't mean to sound to snooby, just a helpful hint maybe ?
