Hi Rich,

Again a very good capture, considering the time you took the pic :-)........
I like the mood a lot, and lightning is spot on.
I saw your pics before and they have the same style, can you share your PS workflow a bit.
I would be very interested, thanks in advance.

I like your stuff. Moody. Contrasty. Nice use of colors. It's all good.

That has got to look pretty nice in a B&W also.

Great self portrait Rich. Your Urban style is evident in your portraiture too. I like it. Lots of character. Lots of guts. Lots of talent.

Thanks everyone

avdbrandt - I'm ususally pretty generous in explaining my post processing to people, I have a thread in the urban forum somewhere where I explained how I use layer masks and locally adapted contrast curves but in this case I prefer to keep it to myself. One of the techniques I used here stemmed from a type of look that I wanted to create and alot of experimenting until I found that look, and so I consider it something of my own that I keep closely guarded. I hope you don't mind

Thanks alot everyone else. I'm happy with this one, and it's not bad considering I was flat out of ideas for what to do and managed to pull a workable shot out of it anyway :)

You are very creative in your work and should be credited for such.
I do my best to be creative in my work but that's down to videography, not Photoshop.

This shot oozes out mood and strength and for the mood the contrast is well balanced.

Very nice capture. Your work is fascinating, moody, contrasty, with washed colors. And all in a very viewable light.

Well, I certainly wouldn't want to give the impression that photoshop was the only point at which I get creative

It's just another part of the process. Truth be told no matter how loudly I shout into the side of my camera "DESATURATE THE COLOURS DAMN YOU!!!!" it still produces the exact same results as if it weren't even listening. My only logical recourse was to do what couldn't be done in camera, in photoshop :)

That's cool that you do videography, I actually just started work with a local film maker on a montage project. It's neat stuff but photography is certainly me first love.

Very nice capture. Your work is fascinating, moody, contrasty, with washed colors. And all in a very viewable light.

High praise indeed, thank you. I think moody is appropriate, I've always been attracted to work that set a strong mood so I'm glad to see my own work achieving that as well. Thanks dude :D

I must add.. you`re cute as well:)

And that, made my day

Yes rich, videography was my work for years, but it took a long time to get very creative with Adobe After effects etc.
I haven't been long into photoshop with photographs, so my creativity is only the begining which I have a lot to learn, but give me a video and I'll work wonders.
