Micron Technology (http://arcon5.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=341)

This would be perfect for me, a photography student!
Any ideas how much it will cost and when it will be out?

Cool.

At the end of the post it says 2007 for mass production to start, so mid-late 2007 for consumer cameras useing the chip to reach shelves.

It will be very interesting to see what image quality and noise levels are like.
Iv been waiting for chip and processor technology to reach a point where very high frame rates were possible.
10 frames per second is VERY fast, certianly faster than any DSLR on the market.
So this finaly may mean the end of the mirror, or at least the begining of its demise.
Prehaps a view finder that gives a TTL view when the mirror is down, but converts to EVF when the mirror is up (the EVF would swing down as the mirror swung up).
Letting you compose and focus usieng TTL, then capture very high frame rate useing the EVF to hold composition on a moving subject.
