please excuse my ignorance... but what am I looking at/for in this photo? Where's the scotsman? Or maybe.. what is a flying scotsman?

Beej21, Flying Scotsman is a very famous British Steam Locomotive....

Its a steam locomotive... and in the picture, your looking at the bare chassis. It even says "flying scottsmam" on it, if you look close enough ;)

I find it interesting that even though they have stripped her right down to her frames and nuts and bolts, they still leave the brass nameplates on the sides ???
