Hey guys, went out and did a shoot today for a guy on the car site I post on, it wasnt exactly the best time for shooting due to the fact that it was extremely bright outside and I was fighting the glare, but I tried to photoshop some of it out and darken them up a tad in the hot spots, so let me know what you think....

nice composures! shame for the time of day or these would have been much better. But none the less, you certainly did very well with the time of day. Love the reflections along the sides of the car, beautiful! oh nice car, did you get a to drive it?

Hey thanks, yea I tried my best its just the guy who I was shooting for doesnt really have that flexible of a schedule and in South FLA its ALWAYS sunny now so its kinda hard to get those overcast days that I want, but yea I tried to keep the hot spots and the glare down to a minimum, and nope I didnt get to drive it

its always best to shoot on the "Sunny" side and not the "shadow" side in my opinion. Unless you have an interesting angle combined with the shadows, something creative like that might work also.

pictures were taken around noon, so the sun was pretty much straight up in the air, I tried my best....

3 or 4 pm would have been the best time :)

heres an example of something I took a picture of (just got lucky, trust me) 2 days ago. I have the 5 mega pixel version of your camera. I'm not trying to take your thread over.

(this is also in florida, north florida)

sftempest66 & Rad: 100KB limit? "HEADS UP" everyone! (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=158373)
but I tried to photoshop some of it out and darken them up a tad in the hot spots, so let me know what you think.... The PS work does make the car look better, but why not choose a spot where you don't have a lot of junk reflecting in the car?
And you don't need to wait for overcast skies. Sometimes they just make uneven reflections in the car, like in the hood of this one: Patrick's Camaro (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v218/PhotosGuy/Samples%20-%20Rides/Patrick_Camaro_Final.jpg) While I could move the car for a better angle, I didn't have a choice as to the day we shot it.

Yea, its just the guy who I was taking pictures for didnt really have that flexible of a schedule, I told him I wanted a better spot, better time, etc, but he didnt mind the location and the time and he thought the pictures turned out awesome, and thats what matters in the end...

Sorry for the size limit, I personally liked the spot, I thought the brick contrasted the dark grey pretty good and gave it a neat look, and yea I've seen the car lighting tips and I just dont like the photoshopped versions where the backgrond is some solid color, I like to see the background in my pictures, urban areas, landscape, a lake, anything that really sets the car off, I could sit at car meets waiting for that perfect light, snap off a few shots of misc cars and then do the same thing with photoshopping a background in but those kind of pictures have no appeal to me what so ever

I disagree. What he's going to be showing forever after is an example of your "best work". ;) I just dont like the photoshopped versions where the backgrond is some solid color... I can understand that, but the whole point of the thread is to get the location & lighting as good as possible without access to a studio. What you do/don't do with the background is up to you.

Yea I agree and mainly its just trial and error I guess, some spots you'll get lucky and have a great turnout and some might not be as good, due to the fact that I'm still new to most of this, I'm not sure which spots to weed out and which angles to position the car in, But that will all come in time and practice

Nice car! The tint really looks great in all angles you took.
