Got the new 1D MkII N machine gun in the mail yesterday. Went out and fired off a few bursts last evening. When I first tried it in burst mode, I just stopped for a second and laughed. I couldn't believe haw fast it shot. Gonna take some getting used to changing settings on the fly but thats OK. What a great feel the camera has and it produces awesome images.

Congrats on your big purchase. I'm looking into getting maybe this year. You're tempting me into getting one right now though :D (checks bank account) but I think I should try to hold out as long as possible...

Congrats... it is a fine instrument and you will learn though that the times you need the burst are rare... but it has many other features that make it a great tool.

Nice sequence Sean, as well as an impressive jump. At least I know I wouldn't be brave enough to try a flip from there.

How did you do that? I want to put my cavalry charge series of shots into a moving sequence like that.

Microsoft Digital Image Pro 9.

It's one of the wizard projects called a "Flip Book". Very basic, just select the photo's, set the time span, and the program creates the GIF.

Yup Bryan that is a nice piece of gear! Do the majority of people that use this camera, rarely use it in burst? I would think otherwise.

I can't speak for everyone, but I rarely use it at full speed. For most things, the action is just not fast enough to warrant it. I do find it useful for shooting sequences like Sean's or basketball and tennis when you want a specific ball/body position and/or facial expression.

You can also make an animated gif using Photoshop and/or ImageReady.

Cool, I was hoping someone would post another way to do that.

.....and yea I rarely use it on full speed, even with motocross I use the low speed drive. Just to many damn photo's to mess with...LOL
