Although I have a studio I have never done wedding photography. I have always wanted to but was kinda scared to venture out on my own into unknown territory. Well I went to a friends wedding a few weeks ago and the photographer just happened to sit right next to the wife and I (maybe he saw my gear there too) :) Anyway we started talking and he asked me for a card. Well last night he called and asked me to shoot some weddings with him. I'm really looking forward to learning the wedding side of photography working with someone in the business. I was totally up front with him and let him know that I have NEVER done a wedding but I was really eager to learn. I cant wait. I'll let you know how things go.

I just got done shooting my first wedding tonight. This was my fiances cousins wedding and I just went to town. I was out there with all of my gear strapped around my neck and everyone thought I was the photographer because they did not have one. They went with videography instead which cost them a whopping 1300 US dollars! I have yet to view my photos on computer because I am not at home.

I just did my 3rd wedding this year - 2nd on DSLR. UGHH took about 2 k pictures between dress rehersal and all day wedding prep and ceremony....Of course not all are keepers.

I too would like to learn this more and get the know hows - have even thought about calling some local pros to see if they needed any assistance for OJT.
