I would really appreciate the collective wisdom of the folks here. I need help figuring out what camera bag to carry. Let me explain my situation.
I have a Canon 5D and the 17-35, the 24-105, and the 100-400. I have the 585 flash.
But...I'm travelling to Germany in a couple of weeks. So, I need a bag that will protect the equipment as carry-on, but also something I can easily carry around with me while there.
But getting there I need to carry my gear, my PDS, my batteries, my cables, etc. etc.
Please give me your thoughts and suggestions.
Many thanks.

go to bhphoto.com, and take a look at the bags they have, they have a ton, tamrac makes some great ones, so does lowepro, and a few others. id kinda stay away from canon bags theyre mediocre and kinda pricey. i have 2 tamrac bags, the cyberpack 6, which is a gargantuan bag, holds 2 bodies,1 with lens attached, like 5 lenses and a flash, 3 huge clear plastic pockets on the inside, a huge outer pocket, tripod holder, and it holds a laptop, and meets faa carry on regs i believe, but dont quote me on that last part. if might be too huge for you tho, but the other one i have, the tamrac digital, holds the body with a 17-55 IS USM attached at the moment, 15 fisheye lens, my 70-300 IS USM, a 10-22 USM, and i managed to fit a 430ex in there on top on the 70-300 (but sadly i couldnt fit the 430 in there with its pouch), and i got room still for cables, batts, etc.
So the best thing to do, would be to just check B&H.

When I go traveling with (almost) all my gear, I bring it in the Lowepro MiniTrekker, which can hold a lot of equipment. But it's can be pretty heavy when fully loaded, so I bring one of my smaller bags for "walkaround" shooting (the Adorama Slinger can hold my 10D with one lens attached, 70-200 f/2.8L with one more lens, a PSD and even a flash - but I find myself carrying a flash very rarely). Certainly there is a compromise and sometimes I don't even bring my 70-200 (which is a very fun lens to use), but I find lugging less equipmend much more enjoyable ...
