I can't install ZoomBrowser on my laptop. Canon tells me it's Microsoft and yet I can't find the solution anywhere on MS site or any other sites.

Zoombrowser will just hang without completing it. I was told to look in canon folder and supposed to find Camera Window program. I don't see this folder and Canon tells me to install it from CD by clicking setup file. I only get this message "Feature Transfer Error- 1605..."

Can anyone help?

You may want to try this:

1. Click START, then Run, and type TEMP .

2. Press +A to highlight everything in your TEMP folder.

3. Press your Delete button to delete all the files in here. If anything pops up asking if you are sure you want to delete application files, etc., click No. All we need to do is clear out the majority of the stuff in here.

4. Close the TEMP folder.

5. Click START, then Run, and type msconfig .

6. Set it to Selective Startup.

7. Uncheck Load Startup Group Items.

8. Click Apply, then OK and restart.

9. Try installing your Solutions Disk now.

10. After installing, repeat Step 5, and put the check mark next to Load Startup Group Items, put it back to Normal Startup (if it was there initially), click apply and ok, and restart again.

Hopefully, this will get you up and running! -Johnny

I have encoutered a similar issue here:
1) Installed on my laptop Win2kPro. The installation got stuck in some loop, never finished and I had to kill it.
The installer claimed that the installation did not complete successfully (which I believe;-).
But started ZoomBrowser4.1 it looks like it works fine.
2) Tried to install that on a second laptop WinXPPro... that wa a miserable experience. Installation got stuck, killed the installer... Rebooted... Some OS dll(s) got corrupted on the way. Laptop wouldn't start WinXPpro!!! Could not repair XPPro. Got to reinstall from scratch. :-(

I am kinda scared to install it again. Got WindowsXP. I'll try.
Anybody else seing the same kind of behaviour?
