Is it better to have the backround or foreground OOF?

Background OoF. When something's OoF in front, it looks in the way, or like a mistake, in most cases. When the background is, it looks...well...right.

they're very very dark

That's a problem I've noticed...pictures will look fine on mine, and my fathers LCD monitors. But when I look at them at work on a CRT monitor they look very dark.
These pictures were taken after sunset, so it wasn't very light out...but they still look ok on my monitor.

My vote is for background OOF. I think the 3rd image in B&W and jacking up the contrast would be a potential advertisement for the Range Rover. Too bad the edges were cut... Also blur out the telephone poles in the background...
