I am buying a Eos 10D and I ask for what lens to buy. I am looking at the EF 24-70 f/2.8L USM .
Can anyone advise me on this.
Also memory Cards
Battery packs
Good quality printer.

Thanks

I can't yet speak to the 24-70 but from what I hear it is a fine lens. Mine is on order and should be here Monday. Choosing your lenses is a matter of personal choice. Depends what you are shooting and what the end target of the shots are for (ie commercial). I made the decsion when I got the 10D that if I was putting this much money out for a body that I would only put Canon glass on it but there are also some fine third party lenses out there as well. You may find the 24-70 a little short for wildlife but good for landscapes.

I have two 1 GB memory cards. I shoot pretty much in RAW and a day of shooting can fill them up in no time. If I'm doing alot of shooting in a day I take my laptop with me to download to. I hook that to my home network to transfer to my move to my desktop.

On the battery packs, I have two Canon battery packs and have found that to be more than sufficient.

I use the i950 Canon printer and quite like this printer. It's quality is very good.

You will find it impossible to get good advice on a lens unless you can describe what sort of photography you intend to do.

For example, a wildlife photographer will need a very long lens. A scenic nature photographer may want a very wide lens. A portrait photographer wants something else. A wedding photographer wants something else still.

If you state that you have a big budget, then "L" lenses might be suggested.

Thanks for the help
I intend to take photos of anything and everything although I like to photograph people and I believe the L lens are the best for this.
