( well its tricky for me anyway ! )
I'm a bit of a plonker with flash, haven't done much as yet. I have a 430ex which I've been getting familiar with.
The shot I'm looking for will be taken in a very dark room; with a figure in the centre and I want to throw the shadow onto the back wall so I have a shot of the figure and a strong shadow coming out from them and clearly shown on the wall ( if you see what I mean ). So I guess the flash needs to be at ~ 45 degrees to the camera.
My first thoughts are to set the cam for a long ( few secs ) exposure, and hand hold and fire the flash from a few feet away - but I'm not sure how best to prefocus ( as I won't have the flash on the cam to help me focus ).
I don't have any other kit ( as in a sync cable ) and don't particularly want to spend £30 on one just for one shot.
Apologies for the amateur rambling nature of this post ! and thanks for reading this far without giving up the will to live . . .
Any advice appreciated . . .
