Hello all. I am a new user of an A70. Just got it the other day.

I was wondering in anyone had any sucees stories and /or horror stories that they would like to share regarding the use of this camera

The a70 (as you've likely seen) is a great little camera.

I usually use mine set with Aperture control, Time control, Manual or Program mode. I rarely use Auto, as it will raise the ISO without asking and ISO 400 is kind of grainy in low light. I use only ISO 50 unless I need the speed in low light conditions.)

It's weight is easy to carry around all day, but it's mass is so small that jarring the camera during shutter release is quite simple to do. Sometimes, use the 2 second timer and then steady up as the camera counts down.

I use only one AF area, and recompose after metering. Having several AF areas active seemed to result in subjects other than what I was shooting to be selected and focused on.

Turn the beep on. The focus beep is different from the no-focus beep. This can help when you are can't see the green or orange square clearly.

The wide angle suffers barrel distortion quite a bit but isn't noticble too much unless you have verticle lines at the edges.

All around a pleasing little camera. The quality may not be top notch like some SLR's but you got a much lower cost and weight to cart around.
