Hello,

I need to take images of glass objects.
I tried this before using my Canon Elph S110. Using a flash, all you get is an overly bright image that looks like crap. If you use no flash, the clear glass blends in with the white background I used.

Keeping in mind that I cant afford studio lighting, does anyone know of any effective tips to bring out the glass objects so they dont just blend in with the background?

Thank you!

The nice thing about digital is that you can change the white balance to match the lighting conditions. Just use a regular light to illuminate the scene. The AUTO white balance should get it close. I don't think the 110 has a custom white balance, so you may have to also try TUNGSTEN as well and see which you prefer.

Try lighting from the side, or perhaps below. Another nice feature of digitial is there isn't any added cost to experiment.
