Forgive be if the answer is obvious, but I am a bit of a newbie. I have a Powershot S70 and Windows XP. I have downloaded the latest version of Zoombrowser EX (v.5.6).

In the Save dialogue of RAW Image Task is a field in which you can type in Resolution, with values in the range between 10 to 2000 pixels per inch. The thing that I don't understand is that whatever I type in doesn't seem to make any difference. I have saved as Exif-JPEG with resolution at both 10 and 2000, and the resulting pictures have exactly the same dimensions and file size, and are visually indistinguishable.

So what difference is "Resolution" supposed to be making (and what's the difference between Exif-JPEG and regular JPEG)?

Thanks
Andy

resolution affects what the dimensions of your files are. This is used if your lab requires you to presize your images, or if you need an image to be the appropriate size to fit in another document. More than likely you dont need to understand this now, just leave it on the default. When it causes a problem for you PM me, IM me, or make a post and Ill help you more. I dont want to confuse the matter any more than it already is.

10x20 @ 100dpi
is the exact same file as
20x40 @ 50dpi.`

Whatever you put in that resolution box, you get the same number of pixels in the output. All that box changes is information in the file that represents a supposed resolution.
