How did you convert?
If you use the Red channel it should make faces and people look really nice... and not show the freckles as much.

Both the girls are gorgeous. Don't know why she's self-conscious of the freckles; they're cute!

DOF may be a little shallow, as I think the girl in back is OOF. Nice pic, though! Wish they were both smiling! :-)

Maybe just a tad bit sharper and maybe a tad more contrast. Not much of either.

Yep agree.

three things you can do

1) increase DOF so that both girls are sharp

2) focus in the middle of the girls so that you have enough DOF to cover front and rear.

3) pose their face in the same distance to the camera.
