After I posted the Orange County requirement - I thougt to myself, I should have posted Southern California perhaps...

Anyway,

Perhaps a good topic for this thread might be - Events, PhotoShoots, Great HOT SPOTS in Southern Ca. to shoot may be a nice idea...

Also, in relation to events, that may include photo seminars and or class's in Southern Ca.

Another idea may be posting Photo Swap Meets.

I does take a couple of hours but how can you beat FREE? Go shopping for a couple of hours at the local shopping centers.

But for the OC residents (or any SoCal, actually) I just found out about a Fine Arts Photo Contest sponsored by the Fine Arts Center of Irvine.

DEADLINE IS TOMORROW !!!! (Saturday no later than 5:00 PM)

If you want to enter, HERE (http://www.4shared.com/file/15282075/27f2ed45/2007_PHOTO_prospectus.html) is a link to the sign up sheet. You do not need final prints yet, just a CD with as many as 6 (six) 300dpi jpgs. The price to submit is $12.00 per shot. You will have to take them to the Fine Arts Center of Irvine which is at Heritage Park (on Yale Avenue, just below the 5 Freeway).

hey OC folks! Im an OC native (Tustin mostly) - I currently live just east of OC (Ukraine haha) My friends and fam are still in Tustin and Im goin home to T-town for Christmas in a month! Yay for me... so anyway, my boy "Jusebox" (a recently joined POTN member) needs a shooting buddy, we used to shoot a couple times a month, but obviously my moving overseas now prohibits that :-(

So anyway, I'm concerned that Jusebox (aka Justin) isn't living up to his full potential as a photog! If any of you OC folk have a good heart and are going shooting, could you send him a PM and invite him! He is a great, really chill guy who can kill a day drinking coffee and shooting pictures like few people! Thanks!

If so, go shoot the full moon. From Huntington Beach, it looks very nice. However, it's probably a bit too late to shoot it--it's already high up over the horizon.

See, now this morning would have been the time to shoot the full moon SETTING behind the HB pier. Only the truly brave and intrepid get shots of the full moon sinking in the pacific - which is why I don't have any!

Ha ha ha! How did you guess? I am near the south end of South Lake. Actually, one of the best shots I ever took was just a couple hundred feet from my door. Take a look at this (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=108957). Looks familiar? The guy is sitting on one of the benches at the end of South Lake (Yale Loop is right behind him.) But I did have to clone out all of the W (Woodbridge) logos.

That would have been a HARD shot to take....I have never seen a shot like that.
