She's scolding me here and would soon start attacking from above. She was very aggressive, leading me to believe that a nest was nearby.

Nice shot -- that's one angry-looking bird. From what I can tell these birds are grumpy on a good day.

She got close enough to my head that I actually had my arm up ito protect myself. I never found the nest, so I guess her efforts paid off.

Nice shot! I don't think with how sharp that beak looked I'd want her getting to close. One one hand it's a shame you didn't find the nest on the other at least you walked away without blood being drawn :D
