I am about to design a Promotional Card for my photography, I was thinking of a 4x6 card. Any tips? I would like to see some samples if you have any.

most that I see are 5x7. I think 4x6 might not grab you as much, but then again I don't know your cleintele

the trick is to order in small quantities, and keep updating it, as your contact list doesn't expand that often. This way you can keep sending cards with new material on them.

Clean and simple is the key, it needs to draw you in and create an intrest

5x7... thanks, that's just the kind of info I was looking for.

I usually use 4X6, but it depends a lot on how much room the client has left on his wall! :D

The two big advantages of 4x6 compared to 5x7 is that a) they're cheap and b) the fit in a regular business size envelope. With that in mind you might want to see if your lab will print 4X8's. They might turn out to be pricy but it'll be a funky size no one's seen and it will still fit in the business envelope.

In any case here are a couple of promo cards that I've made, one 5X7 and one 4X6.

For some reason the other promo card didn't show up:

Thanks, I did check pricing and 4x6's cost less. I think I will go with that to start.

Most promo cards I see are 5 x7. What a great card! Frank, that is SO you! I am going to have to design one this year...I am in to so many different things hard to isolate one image.

Frank, that is SO you! :D I found a way to get myself into the shot after I'd taken it! ;) I am in to so many different things hard to isolate one image. At $.19 a card, you can almost have a different one for each client!
