what is there to say? THEY ARE FANTASTIC!!! the second one is just soooo sharp. i wish i was able to get such sharp flying shots :)

Excellent in all respects. Great looking sharpness, colour is fantastic, nice detail.

Those are absolutely great shots Sindri - that first shot is fantastic! Very sharp and detailed. Your 2 in-flight shots are also awesome - very well done!! Are these migratory or do they stay in Iceland all year around?

One would be hard pressed to get better shots than this series. I have to agree with Gary, you have mastered your technique and it certainly shows with these captures. Beautiful, simply beautiful.

Excellent images... What setup did you use to capture these imges? Did you see the band on the leg? Must have captured and released by the fish and game service for some studies at one point. I know banded ducks here are extra special.

Stunning captures, the flight shots are awesome. I`ve only ever seen these birds in winter plumage their breeding plumage looks so colourful.

well these are among some of the best shots iv seen on here great exsposure and colors they really have the pop we all strive for.

Absolutly stunning photography Sindri.:) The detail and sharpness in these are exceptional. Great work on the flight shots, they are never easy to get.

They come to Iceland in April and breed here. Then they leave again in August/September.

These are all taken with the Bigma at 500mm. The in-flight shots are taken handheld and the other two with bean bag for support. I did see the band and will report it. :-)

You do have fewer species to shoot during winter since so many birds migrate in August/September just like the Blacktailed Godwit. Still you can always find something to shoot. I for example always love to search for Rock Ptarmigans when there is snow on the ground. ;-) The season for birding is from mid April to the end of August here in Iceland (May, June and July being the best months).

Yes I do. I love every aspect of photography. Shooting birds is my passion though. ;-)
