How many frames-per-second can RemoteCapture handle?

I need to set up a camera to record high-res (minimum 2000x1000) raw images for long periods of time (up to a day).

Because of the massive amounts of disk-space required, the pics need to be stored remotely.

Can RemoteCapture handle this?

I don't own a Canon (yet), but from what I've read on the 'net the past few hours this seems to be the way to go.

I have the 10D and it has remote capture. It's pretty slow though because it depends on the USB connection from the camera which is only USB 1.1 and not 2.0. I played with it some yesterday with JPEGs and the shortest time between shots that it allowed was 5 seconds. So it's more like how many frames per minute not per second. I would thing the cameras with firewire connection or usb2 would be faster...I would guess but I don't know.

Thanks. That's where I thought the bottleneck would be. I see that the pro cameras with firewire can do 5-8 frames per second.

I was accepted into the Canon developers network, so I'll play around with the SDK and see what it can do.

Cheers,
