Thanks Tareq! Opanda wasn't working on that shot.

I guess I should have been a little more specific -- I was wondering how the shot was processed. It really pops!

Actually he's over fed and lives in the back yard of my father-in-law's house... I guess he really just has a fast metabolism, plus i caught him as he was about to take a nap.... hence the sleepy look.

He's quite the vocal cat. He or she is not ill i assure you. He also has a funny quirky personality.. he makes the scariest sounding meow whenever you touch him :)

Cap0ne, you did a great job with those shots, even i took one of your shot and manipulating different way or effect as it is really nice composition and expression and exposure, if you have the RAW then you can get really amazing look if you know how to manipulating it rather than normal usual pp.

Really this lens proving that it is one great L zoom in Canon family [lenses line], and i am happy i started with it as first L zoom and still it is my best zoom so far over 70-200 and 24-105, not sure if 16-35 is my favorite or this one because my favorite photography is landscapes and 16-35L serving me there more than 24-70L.

I had thought about selling it over the weekend. I went out Sunday and did a stock photography shoot with it, and yesterday I shot a guitar that I am selling and all I can say is wow, what a sharp and colorful lens. It's staying :)

Mum,

Install a free exif reader:
http://www.opanda.com/en/iexif/ which will incorparate into your browser - very handy,
or standalone:
http://owl.phy.queensu.ca/~phil/exiftool/

In the mean time:
1/640" - F/4 - 42 mm for the first one, and 1/640" - F/4 - 27 mm for the second.

Kind regards, Wim

I think the creature is a BIT OOF. The grass looks sharper, maybe that's why your eye leads to the grass, same for me.

If you set the camera to P or the Green Box, the camera will do it all for you. I personally shoot manual mode 95% of the time but once you get used to it, you can change your settings pretty quickly.

Actually take advantage of what makes this lens cost so much and switch to aperture priority and keep it down around 2.8.

Yeah....I'm just arriving upon this conclusion myself. I mostly shoot manual mode but have either butchered shots or missed them altogether because of putting too much attention into technique and not enough into composition and timing. I just won an ebay auction tonight on a 2 year-old 24-70mm F/2.8L ($998.00) I'm now wiping all the slobber off of my keyboard after viewing this thread and planning my upcoming aperture priority-only strategy. Heh heh.
