Thanks guys :)
Exif is something like f4, Iso 200/400, 1/640s, Servo AF

Just for the record folks.....all the exif data is included in Cap0ne's photos. Please permit me to post it below. Use Mozilla Firefox. There are a number of free exif-reader plug-ins available.

What I really want to know Cap0ne is the other stuff if you don't mind divulging, such as:

Filters on lens?
Post-processing app?
Post-processing efffects applied.

It appears that you used a vignetting effect.

Super super awesome shots. I'm inspired. Thanks much for any input.

shot this one over the weekend... was working on a pano... didnt come out as i had hoped. shot from right to left with 4 images, the last shot had some sun pop out on me.
C&C welcome

I really like this shot. You can go so many directions with C&C but sometimes
it's just not necessary. My only critical input on this photo would be to make it smaller so one doesn't need to horizontally scroll to see it all. Not all of us have moved into the 21'st century yet with wide screens or dual monitors...heh heh.

You also have some great shots in your pbase stuff. Critical input? not really, other than it appears many of the shots are a bit under-exposed. But that could just be personal preference.....or maybe I need to adjust my gamma.....

Well, after playing around a little this weekend, and keep this in mind...

I found that my window with a white drapery in front sends in some nice soft light... so that light bulb went off in my head...... and this is what I was thinking...

http://miagrill.no-ip.com/Mani-aX/CanonDigital/IMG_0659_001.jpg

only post processing in this picture is a little Gaussian Blur on her cheeks...

IMO the 24-70 can do wonders as a portriat lens.

BTW, meet my wife Melanie :)

I shoot RAW so all my shots go through PP. I converted this to a custom B/W and did selective sharpening. It was already sharp out of the camera and required minimal USM.

I never had any sharpness issues at f/2.8 with this lens.

It's Bill Gates front lawn. He actually shot the "Windows" desktop photo from his front porch. That's his household employees in this photo picking up the garbage left behind by a band of renegade Google employees after they crashed the front gate and got Gates' garbage cans stuck under their vehicle. DozerLYP,
Is this shot anywhere near full-frame or is it a crop? I'm trying to get a feel for how close this lens will focus. Gorgeous ring BTW. I want to do close up ring shots at weddings if possible without having to use my dedicated macro. Certainly looks good in this shot, but I was just wondering if it was a crop and if so how much. Thanks.

Oh come on now! You can't just say that little bit and then zip away. I need to hear more about this or at least get pointed to a FAQ on it or something. (I've still got a lot to learn....)(very much "a lot")((more than any parenthesis can hold 'a lot'))

Your camera will try to find a neutral grey, and you have to compensate for that depending on what you're shooting. Since he was shooting a white background with the ring, the camera underexposed it by about 1-1.5 stops to get a neutral grey as the background. If you're shooting a dark scene, the camera will try to overexpose. This is why green box mode sucks :D

Well, you know.....I'm a victim of random acute sense of humor sometimes. It just takes over like a fever , then off we go.

But seriously, there's no harm in having a little fun as we try to learn, a lot.

Thanks for the input. I'm sure there a re plentiful sources around on the internet that would explain this but I already live in the 'dog house' as it is for spending too much time on the computer processing photos or whatever.

I don't use the green box, but do rely on the camera mitering censer. and did not know about it trying to find a natural gray. I'll have to keep that in mind.

^^ DozerLYP, thanks for the full frame. That helps alot. I just picked up a 24-70 yesterday and look forward to trying some wedding ring layouts that might be done on location quickly. Appreciate you finding the file. This is quite a versatile lens.

Canon should produce an ad about this lens: "Get one, and you will win one dog, nice combo, hurry, this offer is ENDLESS*".

* ENDLESS = the lens discontinued.

OK.....Here's a pic straight out of the camera. No post-processing other than reduced image size.

My rug-rat wasn't happy about posing at the time.
A promise of a cheeseburger was all that it took for an attitude adjustment.....

Notice the two-colored eyes.

Edit: added another "straight out of camera" of a happier rug-rat and her big sis.
