I have had my A70 for about 4 months and have taken well over 1000 photos and suddenly some of the photos I move to my hard drive are showing corrupted.

Ex: http://www.ultrasoundamps.com/2.htm

Anyone have any idea why??? The computer has not changed.

Have u tried it on another computer to determine if it's the camera?

I haven't heard of virus's that attack camera software.

But i would check on another computer, thatw ay u know its your computer and u can work from there.

Are you saying that all your .jpg's (I'm assuming they're in jpg format) that were taken with the camera (all other jpg's are fine) worked fine when downloaded, but now (however many months later) all show up like this?

I have tried other computers and have the same problem

No other jpgs have this problem. I can download jpgs from other sites or that are sent to me and I never have this happen.

I have tried other computers and it shows up there as well.

No not all of the jpgs do this. I may get as few as 5 in a hundred that do this or there may be 30 in a hundred.

I am thinking it is the flash card but I have no way to verify this which is why I am writting to the forum to see if anyone has seen this before.

Thanks

Do u mean u send the jpg to another computer, or do u transfer from the camera onto that computer?

Does it show on the LCD of the camera after taking it?

You could try uploading one of your uncorrupted jpg files to your card and then copying it back to your computer as a different file. have a look at the resulting picture.

Do this with the card in your computer and in your camera if you can. That way you can isolate it to card or camera.

Have you tried deleting all files off your CF card? It could be that you are now using an area of your card that has a problem.

I would try a different CF-card, but it might also be the CCD in the camera that has been damaged.

I contacted SanDisk and the were very fast in answering. They weren't positive it was the card so they asked me to reformat the card.

I told them that I do that everytime I empty it and the pictures are still corrupted so they immediately sent me a RMA form and told me they would replace it, no problem.

So maybe I will go that route and see what happens. It is funny because I have tons of jpgs on my system and none of them have any problem which makes me believe it is either the cf card or the camera.

I will let you know how it all turns out.
Thanks
