Currently, I have well built Desktop system, a Toshiba Qosmio Notebook, and a Rebel XT, Id like to carry two cameras with me for the sake of not changing lenses everytime a jet flys by at a different distance

Here's my dilemma, I have the option of getting back 100% of what I paid for the notebook(love working in retail for this reason), 1500+warranty+tax

What i am considering is the new Black MacBook, Intel Dual Core 2Ghz, 512 ram, 80 gb HD, that will also run windows, or a 30D, Or keeping the Qosmio and call it a day.

What would you choose and why? Im making my decision tomorrow.

could you get the macbook, sell the qosmio and xt and get a 30d too?:) then you'll have lots of new toys to play with!

Do you have the 70-200 f/2.8L IS lens? That's another option :)

Oh, and you will still be switching lenses. Once you start using the 30D, you won't be using your XT anymore :) I'd go for the lens.

I got a Macbook pro today, 2.0 GHZ Intel Core DUO, 512 RAM, 80 GB HD, X1600 Graphics, opening it up RIGHT NOW!

I never understood, not having owned a newish mac before, about how the same specs would generally be better on a mac than on a pc. Those specs on a PC, other than the Intel Core Duo, wouldn't be anything to pay even a grand for, let alone 2. They're great machines, though...no doubt about that. Enjoy!

Too bad it won't support CS2.

Hey if people like Macs they can't mind paying the premium for them. And now there are at least 2 games available for them as well so they are covered there.

We just had heaps of trouble installing CS2 on an Intel-based Mac at work. Beware! Adobe Version Cue is what causes the problems apparently.

unless you want the DVD burner and larger harddrive--white gets so dirty--I have a 14" 1.42 iBook G4--and love it--but the white does get dirty (and I am pretty good about keeping my hands clean when using it--it is my baby)--I would suggest bumping up the ram to a gig--mine screams with a gig of ram--

I would get the macbook and keep the xt--why do you 'NEED' the 30d?--or maybe return the toshiba, sell the xt, buy a 20d and a new lens--maybe the 10-20, or 70-200 f4L
