......that isn't as biased as my fiancé's. This is one of our favorite shots from a recent visit to Turkey. The 12x16 print takes pride of place on our wall at home. I think it's a good photo, what do you think?

Be gentle, I've never posted an image for review before.
Thanks

Hi Jim,
This is a really lovely image. I love playing with other people's shots, so just let me know if this is not OK with you, but here is my take on it:

I have done a very quick and nasty job on the cloning, but I think you can see what I was trying to do.
This is a great photo, looking forward to seeing more of your work soon.

I really wish the modern sailing vesssels weren't in the image,. I love the skiff and the landscape together,. even the long dock that the sail boats are tide too would continue to add to the whole image,.. but the background full of pleasure boats detracts from the overall image. (not so much that it isn't still a good photo,. I am just going through a "What if" thought is all)

I love boats and docks.
This is a lovely picture. It has mood, perspective and touches of primary color. The partial boats on either side of the subject do add noise, but the boat's deck here takes control of the eye.
It is really hard to say what options might be even better (and I have seen lots of similar shots with boats at anchor in a river, etc). I have a gut feeling that the boat overly dominates the view and forces a front to back movement. In turn my gut would like to see a bit more width to the foreground with the boat leading me across to the background view. I have no prob with the sailboats.
Lovely scene.

I prefer suzies version, the crop gets rid of some distractions and the saturation boost is good too. I would go so far as to clone out the letters on the bow of the zodiac.
Otherwise a nice shot, it has some impact with that dominant boat, it would be eye catching in an exhibition or competition.
I'm not sure that I would like it on my wall long term though, that same boat is just too dominant! For you of course it has memories as well so its a different story.
