I am trying to convey a certain idea with a photograph. I want to capture the idea of constancy in the midst of change. I want to give one of these pictures sort of a fall-ish look. The leaves on the trees in the area will not change colors (they just die and fall off) so I will take care of that in PS. The fall-ish look would represent the changing world, while the Temple in the background represents constancy (God, religeon...etc).

I have not really played with the colors in either of these photos, and they have been scaled down significantly, so they are not as sharp as they once were. I want to know if if you all think that I could get the effect that I am going for with either of these shots. I am looking for ideas for PS and some composition pointers.

Thanks for all your input, good or bad. Don't hold back or I will never learn.

I prefer the first composition; the trees in the sky frame the temple strongly in conjunction with the other trees. as for the PS work, good luck. Sounds like a big task.

I think the first shot works better, but you might want to reshoot this when the leaves are halfway through falling off. This will give you more view of the temple through the trees, and the 'change' will be more vivid as the leaves will be in the process of change. Might be able to get a few falling leaves too.

Notice the scupture on the top is facing away. Seems kind of odd. Is there a front view you could use too?

Ok, my brutally honest friends,

I don't know if I have achieved what I set out to do (see above), so I want your opinion.

This is my first attempt and the colors seem different than they did in photoshop, but...any opinions, thoughts, pointers....

Thanks for your help so far.
