At Ollie's suggestion (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showpost.php?p=1551340&postcount=20); thanks to Carzee getting us all curiously hungry with the thoughts of mashed potatoes on the grill (http://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?p=1497134#post1497134), I am pleased to present the POTN: Show us your BBQ! thread!

I was going to wait until after the weekend (Big BBQ for my brother in laws visiting Finnish friend.) but I figured some other people might also be grilling this weekend (It’s a US Holiday weekend that traditionally starts the summer grilling season.) so I should put the thread up in advance.

Thinking ahead I took a picture earlier in the week; steak, baked potatoes, and corn on the cob! We found a delicious grill rub to season the steaks with, this one was Hickory and Molasses. Tasty!

It's finally going to get warm here in Chicago! Mid 80's and sunshine, perfect weather for a BBQ and party this weekend.

I can't wait we will get a bit better weather here in Finland. Today too windy (luckily not raining anymore). Gosh, I'm hungry now. Posting will follow in due course.

Thanks Kevin for taking action on this. We have exposed the content of our fridges, so why not to show how and what we eat. :p

Why bother? I just throw the corn on the grill in the husk. High heat, about 4 minutes a side, then peel off the charred husk when you're done. Wonderful flavor -- little smoky, little carmelized -- MMMM. . .Corn. . .[drools]. :D

This is basically how we do it, only we shuck a couple of layers from the corn first. We have done it without the tinfoil but we find it's a little tenderer this way.

That's how I do it also...'cept I soak the corn w/husk for about 30 minutes before grilling...mmmmmmmmmmmm

I've done this as well, my grandmother used to soak field corn with just a little milk and sugar before putting it on the grill.

That one is a Weber Q, it's great. We bought it last year in the spring just for the truck. It runs from a propane tank in the truck too. There's a cooler in there as well along with heat and everything we need to feed and sleep 5 for a good week.

So here's mine. I smoked a brisket today. First pic is the grill in action. The second is twelve hours later, ready to serve.

Since it's a state law in Texas that you have to drink beer when you're grilling, hunting or attending any event in a public park, I thought taking a picture of the grill with my lensbaby was appropriate.

One thing about the meat, the smoke penetrated WAY further than I've ever had happen before. Usually it's only 1/4" (.5cm I think?) or so. This time it was about 1/2" (or 1cm??) Anyway, it tasted fine:)

And pardon me while I pretentiously nitpick about U.S. terminology...

If you're cookin' over relatively high heat (usually direct heat) for short-to-moderate lengths of time...you're grillin'.
Barbecue...real barbecue...is low and slow. ;)
