canon zr500 motor noise

Has anyone else experienced higher than normal motor noise during playback on their zr500? My previous DV cam was a sony digital 8 and it was dead silent.

I'm afraid that most of us use still cameras. I know that the ZR500 is one of Canon's digital videos, but have no clue as to the media used. I would, however, guess that as long as the motor noise doesn't show up in the recording there's not much to worry about.

thats exactly the problem, motor noise shows up in the recording, most noticably when taping in a quiet room.
