Greetings,

I've been using my 10D since March and it's replaced my Nikon's as my principal money earning camera. I'm still using a Mamiya Pro-TL for weddings but I expect that this will be the last wedding season that's exclusively film. As far as I'm concerned the Canon provides the same quality to the consumer as my 35 mm camera had.

In any case I use the 10D for commercial work which - for me - is mostly organizational events. Portraiture, group photos and presentation shots are things that I prefer to do with the Canon now. I've done some magazine work with the 10D and am currently working on a multi photo (and multi month) assignment for a magazine.

If you take the time to read some of the posts in this forum here, you'll very quickly come across a lot of people who use their 10D professionally :)

Andy

I've met a few local photographers that uses the 10D as thier primary camera. Presently I have'nt a the time yet for myself but it is one of the camera's by choice due to the prices of the higher end cameras.

Greetings,

I made the switch to digital in July 2001 and never looked back. I HAD to get a 10D when Canon was messing around with my D30. I do like the 10D better.

My business is shooting motorsports. I make enough to pay the bills, but I'm also at places I enjoy. Much better than the corporate cubicle I used to occupy.

My sales are direct to the racers, and a few to publications.

I'm using the 16-35 f2.8L, the 24-85 f3.5-f4.5, the 50 f1.4, the 100 macro (the older non USM one), the 70-200 f2.8L (no IS), and I just got the 1.4 Extender.

My other equipment inclused a Stoboframe Pro-T, the Lee bellows lens shade and I have the adaptor disks so I can mount it on the 50 and the 24-85. I have a 550EX flash and a pair of 420ex's so I can use the Wireless TTL functions.

I shoot concerts three or four times a week for papers and music magazines. Started with a D30, moved up to a D60 and now use a 10D.

i do a considerable amount of sports photography with my 10D. if i could afford a 1Ds, it'd be my next purchase. love the ease of use and if you've ever used something from their EOS line, there'll be no problem crossing over.

right now, i'm using a Canon 75-300mm, Quantaray 19-35mm and for my long shots a Vivitar 500mm mirror ($100 on eBay for the mirror lens!).

Which lenses do you use at concerts?

The majority of my shots are taken with the 28-70 f2.8L - a very versatile lens. I may change this next year for the 24-70 model to get a bit more width. For larger theatres, arenas and outdoors shows I use the 70-200 f2.8L IS and/or 28-70 f2.8L. For real small club gigs I use either the 16-35 f2.8L or the 28-70 f2.8L.

I also shoot concerts... this was taken last week with my 10D. The lens used for this shot was a Promaster 28-200mm f5.6, however I also use the Canon 50mm and Canon 100-300mm

This photo is unre-touched, btw.

I do magazine assignments, weddings, commercial and promo images with the 10D. One of the magazines no longer will accept film but want everything to be in digital form for their publication. Others that give me assignments will swing both ways these days and the image size produced by the 10D is more than adequate for most publications.

I currently have the 17-40, 24, 50, 135, 28-80L, 80-200L, 50 macro and 100-300 Canon lenses along with a pair of EOS-1n's. I also have the Sigma 400 APO for use with sports photography.
