Following on from my day out at the weekend with my new 10D, I took these three shots at Ludlow Castle in Shropshire, England.

I think they are OK, apart from the fact the sky is a bit washed out, but any other tips ?

Ian - nice to see someone else posting castle pictures here other than me.

You have to take everything I say with a pinch of salt - I am a learner. But I believe that shooting dark objects (like buildings) with bright sky is always tough - a polarising filter is recommended to me by others who know a lot more.

Think #1 is the best. Shadows atill have details, no washed out highlights and an interesting subject. May be a little tighter crop on the right.
#2 and #3 are too detailed to be of interest (for me).

I'm going to agree that #1 is my favorite as well. It seems that all the contrast there helps it out where the other two seem kind of bland.
