Purchased Cannon SD 630 ... New to forum.

Hi everyone, I just purchased the Cannon SD630, so far I am truly satisfied despite the fact it lacks an optical viewfinder.

This might be the wrong forum for this, but I figured I would spend most my time in here.

Any tips for a new Cannon SD630 user, and tips for snap shot photography?

Congratulations and good luck. Read the forums and books and then do a lot of practicing. This is the right forum for you but all the other ones can help as well. Watch the contests on this forum and you will learn what people consider to be good photos. BTW, the term "snapshot" that you used tends to be a bit of a derogatory term around here. It refers to pictures that have been taken without any regard to composition or exposure. I have been accused of taking snapsots around here...Well excuuuuuuse me :)

I had one of these cameras for a weekend and ended up taking it back. The mode selector switch on the top of the camera must have had a short in it or something like that. Everytime I'd try to go to playback mode it would stay in camera mode or flash the playback for just a second or so. Good luck with yours. I ended up getting the sd550 and have been pleased so far.
