howdy all. jsut picked up a digital rebel xt w/ kit lens and a canon 75-300 III USM or something like that.

A few keepers for a rookie last weekend at a local club hangout. Ive got a lot to learn, but i managed these in Tv mode, with no monopod or IS and lots of practice panning. lol No editing except for shrinking it down 50% to make it web happy.

really enjoying the change from my olympus 360DL :D

Nice shots, but I think you should zoom out a little on them so that you can fit the water trail into the frame more.

thx. nyy, i do have those shots too. i just dont think they came out too well. all of that stuff and more of the boats running that day are here. (http://www.baldylox.com/phpAlbum/main.php?cmd=album&var1=Miscellaneous%2FAround+MN%2FTCMBC/&var2=0) now you can see how bad I need to improve and get something with IS. lol

Nice shots. I wish there were more people down here in Australia who race nitro boats. I have a Kyosho Nitro boat which I've realy only used once. They take a lot of cleaning. Anyway nice shots.. Would have been nicer to see some high speed panning shots.

Only problem with those is sooner or later, the engine stalls out when the boat is nowhere near shore... Be prepared to take a dip.

We have a restaurant on the waterfront in Detroit named the "Rooster Tail" in connection with the yearly Hydroplane races.
