I've had my S2 for about 2 weeks now and I am starting to get grasp on all the functions. Can anyone give me advice on taking a picture of a fast moving object, say a bee in flight? What functions? settings?
Thanks

Hi gnvoylien, in my short experience with s2, to take pictures of moving objects (planes, birds, sports, bees) you have to use a fast Shutter Speed (the time lens still open). If you set the dial in P mode, the camera automatically set the value and it generally detects the correct speed or in Tv mode you can set it, try using speeds 400 or greater (400 means 1/400 seconds), so the lens close very fast giving the "freeze" efect.
For more information you can read the user manual in pages 84-88.
Talking about bees, this is a picture I'm very proud, but it took more than 20 tries to get this one (it was taken at shutter speed 1/500 in P mode)

I recently got some shots of some bats while in flight. Lighting was very dim and if you look down in this forum, you will see them. The trick is having enough light so you can get the shutter speed fast enough to freeze the action. Unless, of course, you want some motion blur. Then just slow the shutter down a bit.

ANother problem with fast moving objects is get camera to focus and shoot while object in field of view -
In addition to using the TC setting you might consider going to manual focus and estimate a distance. Then when bee appears you can activate the shutter almost immediately
