I had nothing to do on Sunday after having lunch with my friends so I drove down to the huge Vancouver Chapters to see if they had any of those books you guys said were on sale about digital photo. They didn't but I did find some other books that aren't on sale.

Anyways, I had my MD and my camera with me and there was some sort of culture week event thingie going on so I just spent a couple hours walking around, snapping pics. I saw this monk get off the bus with a huge load of bags and then walk toward the bridge. Me being...well, me...I followed him, but not too close so he's not freaked out or unnatural. He stopped in the middle of the bridge and looked around, starring at the huge ass buildings. It's probably his first time seeing skyscrapers.

So...I held down the shutter for continuous shots because there were so many cars, hoping that one of them would turn out without any vehicles anywhere. Good thing he stood there for about a minute before continuing to walk.

This looks 3D. Quite the dof. I don't think I've ever seen a photo quite like this before.

Was that off the Granville Street bridge?? What a neat effect!

This shot has a nice effect, although the DOF is rather unnatural (PS?). Not sure about the title though as the person is hardly recognizable as a monk.

I have to agree with Colin, it does have a 3D effect kinda neat......

Cool. This looks like a model. Quite a neat effect. I agree, you really can't make out that it's a monk on the bridge.

It looks as though the background was selected and blurred. (One wire blurs as it passes in front of a building, and buildings seen through the guard rail seem sharper then above the guard rail.)

I too am from BC (Victoria and Vancouver) (though living in Ontario now.)

Cool. I'm originally from the T.O. area.

I moved about 15 years ago to Toronto from Victoria. I miss it. Been back a few times, but have roots here (not in Toronto anymore)
