Alright, I want something as small as humanly possible that will protect my gear while I'm walking around. It'll most likely be the 30D (no grip) with a 35L attached (rather keep the hood on and in the right direction), a 580 slipped somewhere, and possibly my 24-70L stashed along...maybe the 100 macro.
I was looking at Crumplers first..the 4 million dollar home looked nice for everything minus the other lens, but I'm not positive it would fit the 580 somewhere...I didn't have it with me when I checked. How much bigger are the next ones up? I just looked at the 7 mdh on B&H, and it actually says it fits what I want, but it seems it would have to be so much bigger.
I'm open to other suggestions...just liked the compactness of the crumplers. I had a Kata H-14, and while it would have all fit, It was a little deep (how far it stuck out away from my body).

Quite possibly the Lowepro 4 AW and for sure the 5 AW should fit well.

Did you mean to say Nova 4, bluedog? That'd be far too big for what I want. that's for 2 bodies, 3 lenses, flash, and accessories. I just want one body, two lenses (one attached), and probably my flash.

If you are looking at the Lowepro Nova series, for sure the Nova 2 AW is the right size for you, I had it when I only had a couple of lenses and my 580ex. I had a D60 with 17-40 attached then either a 50 prime or my old canon 70-210 F3.5-4.5 fits no problems (it divides into 3 columns), also has a front pocket for batteries and such. hope that helps.

I have both the Lowepro Rezo 170 and the Stealth Reporte D550......I like the Rezo series better than the Nova series. The reason I like the Rezo better than the Nova is because in my opinion it is padded better and I like the layout a little better. Very easy to use while walking. The Rezo 170 could fit everything but it will be a little tight with the camera in there. The Rezo 190 should do it with no problem. Good luck with your decision.

Take a peek at the Adorama Slinger. It'll hold a bit more, but it's not terribly big even at that.

Looks like a dandy, Jon. Funny...looks a lot like my ex Kata H-14...and the handle looks exactly the same! Odd. I think it's too close to the Kata for me. Maybe I should just get another of those. Seems other than the crumpler, it's as good as I'll get. Really, I just wanna fit 30D w/ 35L attached (not big by any means, in the dslr world), and my 580 next to it. I don't even need another lens in there. I'm still thinking the 4mdh would do it. gah...it was just so nice and small!

How about the Lowepro Slingshot 200. Or is that bigger than you are going for?

Just a little shoulder bag is all I want. Just enough to carry those few things. Second lens not necessary.

Tamrac System 3 is what you need. Mine holds, 20D with Grip and 70-200mm f4 L attached and 430 ex, 28-135mm IS, 12-24mm Tokinia. Also some hoods.

Just went and picked up a Lowepro Rezo 160 AW. Just exactly the right size. Great little bag. I can fit my 30D with a 35L on it, and a 580 right next to it. Wonderful.

LOL...you're just not reading this right, are you?
30D with 35L attached, and a 580. I seriously don't think a backpack is what I need. ;-)

too small... my 6 million dollar home would be a tight fit as well. 7 million dollar home would work fine.

The 4 actually fits just the 30D and 35L quite nicely. A tad snug, but it gets the job done. I imagine a 5 would hold the 580 as well.
